The deadline for entries to this year’s Stockport Business Awards is just a few days away.
To be part of the awards, which are now in their fifth year, firms need to apply by Friday (May 27).
Last year a record number of entries were received and organisers are hoping to uncover even more successful businesses in 2016.
Andrew Baggott, from organisers Clarke Nicklin, said: “We encourage businesses to enter for the chance to have their achievements recognised.
“There are lots of great business success stories in Stockport and we’re already looking forward to another fantastic evening of fun and celebrations.”
There are 12 categories in total, each one offering something slightly different and ensuring there is a category for every business.

- Business of the Year (over £5m)
- Business Person of the Year
- Most Promising Young Business
- Best Not-for-Profit Organisation
- International Business of the Year
- Employer of the Year
- Retail Business of the Year
- Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- The Innovation Award
- The Special Recognition Award
Entry forms can be downloaded at the Stockport Business Awards website.
The Excellence in CSR category is a new one for 2016 which aims to recognise a local business which has a commitment to delivering effective, high-impact, socially responsible initiatives.
Money raised from this year’s event will go to Francis House Children’s Hospice.
The Stockport Business Awards is an event set up for businesses by businesses.
It is organised by accountancy practice Clarke Nicklin, and headline sponsors are high-profile businesses from the region; Gorvins Solicitors, Orbit Developments and NatWest.
