Handelsbanken, the local relationship bank with a branch in Stockport, today welcomed news of three awards*.
The fast-growing bank has been ranked by its UK peers as “Britain’s Most Admired Company” in the banking sector, having been commended in the ranking for the past two years. It has also attracted the “Best Private Bank” award from the Financial Times and sister publication Investors Chronicle magazine, for the fourth time in the past five years. And Handelsbanken secured the award for “Best Customer Service Provider of the Year – Western Europe” for the second year in a row, from financial magazine, International Banker.
All three awards follow the announcement this October that Handelsbanken has been rated top for customer satisfaction for the eighth year running, in an independent survey of British banks’ personal and business customers**.
In winning the Most Admired Company award run by Management Today, the publication pointed to Handelsbanken’s, “devolved model in which the managers make all the big decisions”.
The bank, which puts customer satisfaction first, believes local branch teams like Dave Kovacs’ in Stockport are best-placed to serve and make all decisions relating to their customers.
Dave Kovacs commented: “Having the most satisfied customers is at the heart of what we’re about. Being free of head office targets or bonuses, our branch focuses on doing what we do best and that’s banking, leaving our customers to do what they do best and that’s running their businesses and personal affairs. This means that our customers can be sure of our ability to take all the decisions that matter to them here in the branch, with their best interests in full focus.”
Handelsbanken, which has been ranked one of the world’s strongest banks by financial information provider Bloomberg, operates over 800 branches in more than 20 countries worldwide, with the UK representing its fastest-growing market***. As well as the branch in Stockport, teams of experienced local bankers now serve individual and corporate customers in more than 200 other communities throughout Great Britain.
