Anthony Day, a Field Service Engineer with MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd (MDT-UK), recently completed a four-day London to Paris cycle ride in order to raise money for charity.
One of more than seventy riders who took the challenge on behalf of several charities, Anthony wanted to to raise funds for the British Lung Foundation in memory of his late grandfather who passed away last year from a lung-related illness.
The route took Anthony from London to Calais (via a ferry from Dover) on Day One, Calais to Abbeville on Day Two, Abbeville to Beauvais on Day Three and then Beauvais to Paris on the fourth and final day.
The challenge finished with a group photo underneath the Eifel Tower followed by a celebratory dinner before returning to London on the Eurostar.
In total the riders raised over £100,000 with Anthony’s personal contribution of £1,723 going directly to the British Lung Foundation.
Anthony admits to enjoying the experience so much he already had a few ideas on what to do next.
