It has been five years since MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd’s (MDT-UK) prestigious training Academy opened its doors to a steady stream of national and international engineers and students, many of whom have complemented the team on the quality and depth of the training.
The two Technical Instructors, Andrew Fenn (pictured left) and Roger Scanlon (right) have between them 74 years of experience on MDT’s entire diesel product range. The pair are continually moving their efforts from engine to engine and have recently released revised course schedule details for the remainder of 2015. All the engine courses are now fully modulised, documented and ready to run.
Although Stockport is just one of thirteen MDT Academies worldwide, the emphasis in Stockport is in the support of MDT’s UKHeritage brands Mirrlees Blackstone, Paxman and Ruston Engines.
The demand for training on the Paxman VP185 and Valenta engines seem to be very popular this year, particularly from the MAN International Group Companies. Courses are also presented on the Pielstick PC2 and MAN 32/40 and 48/60 engine types, predominantly for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and the UK’s new engine customers.
Andrew and Roger are always able to present any bespoke training and are more than willing to discuss any training requests or requirements. They can be contacted directly on andrew.fenn@man.eu or roger.scanlon@man.eu
