Stockport Homes has won two prestigious awards “Best Customer Service Team of the Year” and “Housing Professional of the Year”, at the 24 Housing Awards.
The winners were announced at a ceremony at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.
The awards were founded in 2013 with the aim of celebrating the very best that the housing sector has to offer.
The team award was presented to the Anti-Social Behaviour Team, who work hard to reduce ASB and create safe and sustainable neighbourhoods for our customers. Shenade Hegarty won the title of Housing Professional of the Year for her role as Anti-Social Behaviour Officer, for her diligent and conscientious approach to work, and the support she gives to colleagues and customers alike.
Robin Burman, Chair of Stockport Homes’ Board commented, “This is a great achievement for Stockport Homes, to come away with two awards which particularly recognise the services that customer’s value.
We are incredibly proud of all the work we do to help our customers and our communities throughout Stockport.”
Stockport Homes celebrating customer ‘Stars’
Stockport Homes has also paid tribute to local ‘stars’ at the annual customer ‘Star’ awards, dedicated to those who have made an outstanding contribution to their communities.
Nominations were received on behalf of individuals and community organisations that have helped make Stockport a better place to live.
The Mayor, Councillor Chris Gordon and the Mayoress, Dr Margaret Gordon attended the evening to present the winners with their awards.

Positive Partnership Working Award
This award is for an individual or group who has effectively worked in partnership with Stockport Homes and other agencies to bring improvements.

This award is for an individual who gives their time to others to help improve their local area and bring people together.

This award is to celebrate a project, community event or activity that has brought people together, helping to reduce isolation and to make the community safer, greener or healthier.
